Elsa & her ice castle

An extra special part of Alaska in the winter is that you don’t just see the glaciers, you walk through them. Welcome to my adult Elsa moment.

The glaciers were both blue and white at the same time. You can run your fingers across the ice, and it feels smooth, yet thick and unbreakable, and sparkles in the sun. The ice crystals Elsa magically creates are genuine! The ice floor she poetically dances on is a beautiful creation we can experience, too. You can see straight through the ground, but it feels like a firm foundation. I now understand why she had no fear and trusted that the ice would protect her.

How breathtaking it was to experience a moment that was beautiful, theatrical, and seemed too good to be true.
