The Valley of Dry Bones

I just read Ezekiel 37. The Valley of Dry Bones prophecy. It meant, felt, and had a perspective shift that took away all other burdensome thoughts.

I was recently listening to the Unashamed Podcast and heard this for the first time:

The Bible is more about Heaven and Earth than it is about Heaven and Hell.

It is difficult to fathom a dream this vivid and this futuristic, of a valley of human bones that were dry and frugal, and then the Ruah

**Ruah is Hebrew word for God’s breath. This is the same word used in Genesis when it says God’s breath came into Adam.

When the Ruah came into these dry bones, hope was restored. The life and characteristics of the Holy Spirit now live inside the dry, hopeless bones (that were his people), just lying in a valley.

Ezekial 37;10

“So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.”

Ezekiel 37:10 in the original Hebrew language

Prophecy:

Give a command

to breathe, wind, spirit

to come/go in

to live

to one’s stand

foot

muchness, force, abundance

great

strength, efficiency, wealth, army

The original language seems to break it down and show what is happening, rather than softening itself into story-feeling sentences. My mind put it together like this

  1. There is the breath, wind, spirit of God

  2. It lives/stands

  3. It is muchness, force, abundance, great, strength, efficiency, wealth, and an army.

The more and more I learn, the more and more I believe: The Bible is not confusing
